In this issue:

  • Sea Island: Where golf, decorum, and luxury peacefully coexist
  • Spotlight on Vermont: Stowe's Private but accessible golf highlights
  • Hot Deals: Great opportunities for travel to Sea Island, Pinehust, The Balsams and Ritz-Carlton Hotels and Resorts

This month kicks off with a detailed report on Sea Island. Thanks to its head-to-toe, spare-no-expenses makeover, Sea Island's array of luxurious facilities and dedicated service are unsurpassed among multi-course golf resorts. We were taken by the Seaside Course, the Lodge at Sea Island, and the new Cloister Hotel, as well as the range of activities and personal attention we received at this well-mannered Southern retreat. Although it is now a thoroughly modern resort, Sea Island still seems like an idyllic world unto itself. Our Hot Deals section includes a special offer from Sea Island (as well as summer specials from Pinehurst, The Balsams and Ritz-Carlton). Follow the itinerary in our second feature and you can play three very different, but quite worthy and challenging private courses between Burlington and Stowe. The newest and most dramatic is the Bob Cupp-designed Stowe Mountain Club, accessible exclusively to guests of the elegant, but service-challenged, Stowe Mountain Lodge. Stowe makes for an appealing golf getaway during summer and the fall foliage season.
